I was lucky to catch this!

As I was "googling" today, I ran into this article that combines three aspects (well I seem to be obsessed with this number 3, oh, even my DOB adds up to 3!) spoken of in my blog, at different points in time. Ok! They are matrimony, special children and the fact that we are really lucky to be what we are. Please do check out the article here. It is an article from The Hindu Business Line's archives. I would love to hear what you feel about it too. That's it for now!

Pretty nice article. The writer makes a very good comparison of a normal person's character to a special childs'. The quote by the school's honorary secretary really stands out!

Pretty unusual article to be found in BL. Nice read. Matrimonial columns serve as a weekly Sunday entertainment for me. Sometimes the need for paucity (".. handsome 40K per month...") and sometimes the very combination for wants ("Pretty broad minded fair educated homeloving..."OOOh weeeeh!) generates great laughs. But it is sad that people would ask for such things as a means to ensure the happiness of their daughter/son.
But I didn't quite see the relation that the writer was trying to draw. If it is about the kind of adjectives, and hence, expectations laid out by parents, then I don't see the role of the school day scenario (I would use scene but people have a derogatory connotation with that word). If it is about gratitude for what we have, I don't see how matrimony columns fit in. Maybe someone can help me...

This remembers me of an ad in the matrimony column which said,

Fair, slim, intelligent, 81% in engineering .......

what ?????????!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it a resume ?
Are they applying for some job?

Thanks all, for ur comments..what the school's hon.sec said is a rather profound statement!

Eroteme, How i see it is very simple, my answer is my post itself.. My understanding of the article is that, "Having too many specific adjectives in marriages doesn't really help and it is not worth asking for things that matrimony columns list, when the basic fact is that the girl or the guy have better humane and 'normal' elements to look out for. I think the picture of the children is to show that we can think and act independently, which by itself is a big plus."

Well, not complicating things too much, I feel the individual points he tries to make, conveys lot of sense. :)

Kay, thanks for visiting my blog..and I swear, matrimony ads are getting more and more specific like job requirements..:)
